PCI Express Communication cards

PCI Express (or PCIe) communication cards add extra COM port interfaces to the PC systems equipped with PCI Express bus. The cards provide RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interface standards in various combinations.

All TEDIA PCIe communication cards provide optical isolated ports.

The PCI Express cards may be extended to provide additional surge protection. For more information see safety guidelines for preventing overvoltage damage.

As the PCIe cards are functionally compatible with the PCI communication cards, they may be used as a substitution in such systems, that do not provide the PCI slots anymore.

Main features

• functionally compatible with the TEDIA PCI communication cards
• all types provide isolated ports
• optional surge arresters at every port
• standard connectors D-Sub 9
• wide variety in setting of non-standard baud rates
• baud rate up to 16 MBd (depending on the card type)

Software support

The communication PCI Express cards are supplied together with TEDIA Info CD, containing system drivers for the following OS:

• Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit & 64-bit), Windows XP (32-bit & 64-bit), Windows 2000/2003
• Limited MS-DOS support (usually requires program modification)
